About The Position

The LPN in the Crisis Stabilization Unit at St. Francis-Emory Healthcare provides nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse. This role involves contributing to patient assessments, performing care interventions, and documenting patient care. The LPN will assist in developing care plans and will monitor and communicate patient status to the RN, physician, and families. The position is classified as non-exempt and involves working with various patient populations, including neonates.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification
  • Ability to work under the direction of a registered nurse
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a crisis stabilization unit or similar environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
  • Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
  • May administer medication and document patient care given.
  • Assists RN with the development of the plan of care.
  • Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
