About The Position

The Wahpeton Family Medicine Clinic has an opening for a PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or a Patient Care Tech (PCT)! 8 hour day shifts with no evening, weekends, or holidays. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. The Medical Assistant (MA) functions within the administration pre-defined scope of practice guidelines per state location of practice. The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs basic patient care services and supports activities within ambulatory services. Patient Care Technicians are multi-skilled to provide expanded services under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical professional.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program for LPN.
  • Currently holds an unencumbered LPN license with State Nursing board.
  • Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program for CMA.
  • Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment.
  • High school graduate or GED preferred for PCT.
  • Minimum of six months' experience preferred for PCT.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting for CMA.
  • Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies for PCT.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred for PCT.

Responsibilities

  • Educate and communicate with patients and their families.
