About The Position

As an LPN or Certified Medical Assistant in our Oncology department at Quincy Medical Group, you will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their cancer care journey. This position focuses on providing high-quality clinical support, coordinating care, and delivering compassionate, patient-centered service in a specialized outpatient setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CMA: Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
  • LPN: Active Illinois LPN license required.
  • CPR certification required (available upon hire).
  • Strong attention to detail, empathy, and ability to support patients through complex care journeys.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior oncology or specialty clinic experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for oncology visits, including rooming, verifying information, and obtaining vital signs.
  • Assist providers and nursing staff during oncology appointments, treatments, and procedures within scope of practice.
  • Administer injections and medications as appropriate to licensure and training.
  • Monitor patients for treatment-related side effects and promptly report concerns to clinical staff.
  • Perform specimen collection and basic clinical testing as directed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate referrals, medication refills, prior authorizations, and follow-up care.
  • Provide patient education and emotional support related to oncology care plans and treatments.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper stocking of exam rooms and clinical areas.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
