This position provides nursing support to the physician and direct nursing care to patients in an outpatient setting. The LPN serves as the primary medical contact person to screen patients. The role involves using standards of care and practice to guide care delivery, administering medications, performing therapeutic procedures, and accurately observing, recording, and reporting patient information to the Provider. The LPN also assists Providers and Registered Nurses with examinations and procedures, provides emotional support to patients and families, and participates in problem-solving within the outpatient unit to ensure staffing and patient needs are met. Additionally, the LPN obtains medical information, vital signs, and screens patients for chief complaints, recording data in medical records and communicating it to the physician. The role requires close collaboration with office assistants and physicians to facilitate patient clinic visits, ensuring charts are available, escorting patients, and assisting with scheduling when necessary.
