The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – School-Based Health delivers nursing care in a school-based clinical setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), physician, or advanced practice provider (APP). This role emphasizes safe, patient-centered care for all ages, with a primary focus on pediatric and adolescent populations. The LPN ensures compliance with clinical policies, school health guidelines, and regulatory standards to support improved student health and readiness to learn. Services Provided Acute care: Sore throat, cough, earache, headache, urinary tract infections Preventive care: Wellness visits, sports and work physicals, immunizations Chronic care: Diabetes, asthma, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia Mental health: Anxiety, depression, ADHD Point-of-care & other services: Urinalysis, strep and pregnancy tests, venipuncture, medication administration, suture/staple removal Position Summary for Licensed Practical Nurse: The Licensed Practical Nurse provides professional nursing care through the application of nursing skills and processes to assigned patients. This individual provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other members of the care team to achieve optimal patient care. This incumbent has access to confidential patient information, provides direct patient care, has the authority to make independent decisions within scope of practice, and functions clinically under the direct supervision of the physician. This incumbent also reports to the clinic manager or designee for non-clinical functions.
