Adena Orthopedic and Spine Institute brings together the area’s largest team of fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons and musculoskeletal experts to provide personalized care and treatment solutions. Using the latest technology, minimally invasive techniques, and both operative and non-operative solutions, our goal is to provide relief for bone, muscle, and joint issues. With seven convenient facilities located across south central and southern Ohio, we help patients find pain relief and get back to doing what they love. Position Summary for Medical Assistant: The Medical Assistant Tier 2 is an unlicensed healthcare personnel who works under the direct supervision of a licensed healthcare professional, i.e. physician, advanced practice provider (APP), or registered nurse (RN). MAs deliver care in a clinic setting and provides safe, patient-centered care in accordance with established clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, contributing to optimal patient outcomes and efficient clinic operations. Tier 2 MAs utilize fundamental clinical skills,but are frequently required to apply moderate to advanced-complexity clinical skills and knowledge in their daily practice, often in high-complexity or specialized settings, requiring additional training skillvalidation. Responsibilities include direct patient care, administrative support, and collaboration withthe interdisciplinary healthcare team to uphold the highest standards of quality and service. The MA actively aligns with organizational values by delivering compassionate, respectful, and effective care and adheres to the scope of practice for Medical Assistants. Medical Assistants in this tier serve in specialties such as Orthopedics, Neurology, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Pulmonary, ENT, General Surgery, Dermatology, Sports Medicine, OBGYN, Urology, Wound Care, and Urgent Care, and may be scheduled to work outside of normal business hours. Position Summary for Licensed Practical Nurse: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Clinic Tier 2 provides nursing care in a clinical setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), physician, or advanced practice provider (APP). This role focuses on delivering safe, patient-centered care in compliance with established clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, contributing to optimal patient outcomes and efficient clinic operations. Tier 2 LPNs utilize fundamental clinical skills, but are frequently required to apply moderate to advanced complexity clinical skills and knowledge in their daily practice, often in high-complexity or specialized settings, requiring additional training skill validation. Responsibilities include direct patient care, administrative functions, and active collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to maintain the highest standards of quality and service. The LPN exemplifies organizational values by providingcompassionate, respectful, and effective care while adhering to the scope of practice outlined by the Ohio Board of Nursing. Licensed Practical Nurses in this tier serve in specialties such as Orthopedics, Neurology, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Pulmonary, ENT, General Surgery, Dermatology, Sports Medicine, OBGYN, Urology, Wound Care, and Urgent Care, and may be scheduled to work outside of normal business hours.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or LPN, RN with Current Ohio license.
  • Registered through American Allied Health (AAH), American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • Certified through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
  • Successful completion of Adena skills assessment and written test annually.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support
  • 1-2 years experience in medical office or similar capacity.
  • Medical office experience preferred. 1-2 years experience in similar capacity if acting in the Scribe role.
  • Graduated of an Accredited Program in Practical Nursing
  • LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Ohio.
  • Successful completion of Adena skills assessment and written test annually.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support

Nice To Haves
