The Clinic LPN position is a full-time role that operates Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. The LPN will participate in the care of patients under supervision and in collaboration with other healthcare team members. Responsibilities include measuring and recording vital signs, assisting with patient procedures, scheduling appointments, and ensuring patient comfort. The LPN will also handle clinic equipment, administer medications, document clinical tasks, and maintain patient confidentiality. The role requires adherence to safety and infection control standards, as well as participation in quality improvement processes.

  • Participates in the care of patients under supervision and in collaboration with other healthcare team members.
  • Measures and records appropriate vital signs based on departmental policy and patient age.
  • Identifies abnormal values based on age and developmental level and reports findings to the appropriate medical provider.
  • Assists with patient arrival to the clinic and facilitates a smooth patient exit.
  • Prepares patients for examination, treatment, and/or procedures.
  • Observes patients for signs and symptoms of abuse/neglect and reports in accordance with policy.
  • Recognizes emergencies and responds appropriately.
  • Performs non-complex procedures according to clinic policy.
  • Provides for comfort needs of patients considering age and special needs.
  • Handles clinic equipment, including preparation, testing for safety, and cleaning.
  • Administers prescribed medication and/or vaccinations.
  • Collects, prepares, and secures specimens for testing.
  • Documents clinical tasks, testing, and procedures in the patient medical record.
  • Maintains privacy of patient personal health information.
  • Navigates Electronic Medical Record to obtain results and schedule appointments.
  • Prepares safety reports when warranted.
  • Consults and keeps clinic manager informed of activities and problems.
  • Assists with compliance to safety, environmental, infection control, and quality improvement standards.
  • Maintains a clean clinic working environment.
  • Reports safety hazards or violations.
  • Participates in quality improvement processes.
  • Participates in clinic preparation by gathering clinical documentation.
  • Uses equipment including computers, printers, scanners, and fax machines.
  • Obtains medical records from outside facilities when needed.
  • Answers the telephone and routes calls promptly.
  • BLS Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Licensed to practice as an LPN in Louisiana.
