Cleveland Clinic Florida’s Department of Family Medicine provides comprehensive health care for the individual and family focused on the prevention of diseases and the promotion of health and wellness. By joining the Family Medicine team at St. Lucie West Medical Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional, top-quality care to a diverse patient population. Some of your daily responsibilities will include rooming intakes, med-well visits, vaccinations, in-baskets, answering the pharmacy line, hospital discharge follow-up documentation, and authorizations. In this role, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, all while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and numerous educational resources offered within the Cleveland Clinic system. A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 8:15AM – 4:45PM. Start/end times may vary based on the needs of the department.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program
  • Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Experience with technology
  • Computer literacy

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • One year of clinical experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients.
  • Administer medication.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation in medical records and files.
  • Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
  • Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
  • Recognizing changes in patients' status and report pertinent information to Charge Nurse or Physicians.
  • Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
  • Follow Code Blue protocol.
  • Rooming intakes

  • In-baskets
  • Answering the pharmacy line
  • Hospital discharge follow-up documentation
