Join our team today and immerse yourself in a rewarding career for years to come! As an LPN, you will work within our children's residential program located in Burlington County, New Jersey. The children's residential programs provides a structured, safe environment for co-ed adolescents, ages 14-19 with developmental disabilities/mental illness. Schedule: Part-time; 14 hours Competencies: The qualified candidate should: have familiarity with medication and uses; ability to communicate medication education to staff; ability to teach coping skills and gin and maintain trust; understand negative impact of mental illness and developmental disabilities; and have the ability to be an advocate for consumers

Requirements

  • NJ Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License
  • 3 years' nursing experience with children
  • Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Complete nursing assessment report within 24 hours
  • Provide medication monitoring
  • Provide emergency evaluation as needed
  • Participate in the development and revision of Treatment Plans
  • Provide training to staff, consumers, and family members
  • Administer medications
  • Assess youth condition under direction of the APN and RN
  • Provide educational and support to direct care staff on medication administration and side effects
  • Provide injections of medication as needed and prescribed by physicians
  • Provide weekly health, hygiene, and sex education to youth
  • Monitor for accuracy of and confirm physician's orders
  • Coordinate and provide on-going assessments
  • Assist in crisis intervention situations as needed
  • Face to face health care monitoring
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers
  • Complete supporting documentation for all of the above duties
  • Provide on call support 24 hours for emergencies
  • Travel to 3 group homes within a 10 mile radius
