About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at KHI is designed to support the organization's vision of providing the best clinical care and patient service. The LPN will work under the direction of the provider and in compliance with the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to deliver professional nursing care to clinic patients. This role involves triaging patients, coordinating care, performing lab tests, and maintaining clinical communication in a dynamic environment.

• Knowledge of and ability to use computer hardware and software applications.
• Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocol.
• Knowledge of and ability to implement direct care, newborn through geriatric.
• Knowledge of and ability to use basic medical terminology.
• Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current, valid Arizona LPN license or compact state LPN/LVN license.
• BLS through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
• Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in dynamic environment.
• Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures.
• Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens.
• Performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
• May perform venipuncture.
