About The Position

Horizon Health is seeking a full time LPN to join our team at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, OK. Under the supervision and/or direction of the Staff Nurse or Charge Nurse, the psychiatric Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the delivery of nursing care consistent with the treatment plan. Additionally, he/she is responsible for concise documentation for an assigned group of patients.

Requirements

State LPN license required
1 year of experience as an LPN required

Nice To Haves

Experience in a behavioral health setting preferred

Responsibilities

Restore and promote patient’s health by completing the nursing process
Observe patients and reports/records their medical and physical condition appropriately
Attend to patient personal needs (oral hygiene, toileting, bathing, dressing, etc.) as required
Assist with ambulating and lifting patients as needed
Obtain patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature and respiration
As needed, and using approved methods, assist in safely placing patients in seclusion or restraints; observe suicide/seclusion precautions; including physical requirements for physical holds and safe transport of patients
Assist Medical Director and registered nurses
Administer medications and/or injections as needed
Follow voluntary and involuntary procedure/process
Interpret the nursing and treatment needs of the patient to nonclinical staff assigned to the patient
Insure patient dignity and respect patient values
Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients, families and friends
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality; and protects operations by keeping patient and program information confidential
Operate within ethical standards
