About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Atrium Health One Health in Mocksville plays a crucial role in providing nursing services within a physician office or ambulatory care practice. This position is designed for a professional who is dedicated to enhancing patient care and improving the overall patient experience. The LPN will work collaboratively as part of a care team, focusing on executing quality requirements, increasing throughput, and improving efficiency in patient care delivery. In this role, the LPN will demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care to patients, ensuring that all interactions are accurately documented in the patient medical record. The LPN will participate in telephone triage, gathering clinically relevant data and symptoms from patients, and advising them according to established protocols or provider orders. The position also involves tracking and logging laboratory and diagnostic tests, ensuring that providers are presented with all test results in a timely manner. The LPN will engage in pre-visit planning with the provider and care team, administer medications including injections, check vital signs, and assist in reviewing medication histories. Additionally, the LPN will support providers during procedures and examinations, ensuring that instruments and rooms are cleaned and prepared appropriately. Compliance with safety standards and regulations is paramount, as the LPN will adhere to policies set forth by various regulatory agencies. The role also includes assisting patients with inquiries regarding prescription refills, appointment scheduling, and referral authorizations, as well as participating in electronic documentation of care. The LPN will perform various laboratory tests, including Point of Care testing, and will be responsible for managing vaccine and pharmaceutical orders, ensuring compliance with state regulations. This position requires a proactive approach to patient care and a commitment to maintaining high standards of practice in a dynamic healthcare environment.
