About The Position

The LPN position at Atrium Health Levine Children's Cabarrus Pediatrics involves providing nursing services in a physician office or ambulatory care practice. The role focuses on improving patient care quality, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring a positive patient experience as part of a collaborative care team. Requirements

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in NC or SC.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per policy guidelines.
  • Previous medical office experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pediatric care settings.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care and arrange for appropriate patient care as per nursing practice scope.
  • Document all patient care and interactions accurately in medical records.
  • Participate in telephone triage, obtaining clinical data and advising patients according to protocols.
  • Track and log laboratory and diagnostic tests, presenting results to the provider.
  • Engage in pre-visit planning with the provider and care team.
  • Administer medications, including injections, and check vital signs.
  • Assist in reviewing medication history and updating medication lists.
  • Support providers during procedures and examinations, including instrument and room clean-up.
  • Utilize standard precautions and comply with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Report patient conditions and reactions to the provider after treatments or procedures.
  • Assist with patient inquiries regarding prescription refills, appointment scheduling, and referrals.
  • Participate in electronic documentation of care as directed by the provider.
  • Enter orders in EMR per provider instructions.
  • Perform CLIA-approved waived laboratory tests and maintain quality control for in-office lab procedures.
  • Conduct venipuncture and assist with specimen collection for laboratory testing.
  • Provide patients with a Depart Summary and review at the end of their visit.
  • Manage vaccine and pharmaceutical orders, adhering to state regulations and monitoring clinical supply inventory.
