The exceptional caregivers in the Department of Urology specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of urologic disorders, including kidney disease, sexual dysfunction, male infertility and cancer. As LPN on this team, you will assist fellow LPNs, RNs and other healthcare staff in ensuring patients feel comfortable, safe and informed throughout their entire stay at Cleveland Clinic. While making a difference in their lives, you can also make a difference in yours by enhancing your skills through hands-on experiences and educational resources. This is a very procedure heavy unit. A caregiver in this position works days Part Time/Monday-Friday/8:00am – 4:30pm. There may be extended hours which consist of an occasional evening shift until 8:00pm with additional weekend rotations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of Practical Nursing
  • Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross

Nice To Haves

  • One year of patient care experience
  • Experience with procedures

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care activities under the direction of an RN and/or Physician.
  • Collect and document objective and subjective data and observations about patients.
  • Complete nursing assessments and report all data.
  • Implement the current nursing care plan, medication or treatment and communicate patients’ responses.
  • Observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests.
  • Educate patients and family members.
