About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide high-level patient-centered care in a physician office setting, focusing on various tasks such as measuring vital signs, assisting with exams, and administering medications. This role is essential for ensuring patient comfort and support during medical procedures, while also maintaining the medical supply inventory and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school or training program for Licensed Practical Nursing.
  • Current licensure by the State of Florida as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
  • One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred.
  • Outstanding patient/customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and display initiative.
  • Strong verbal clarity, team focus, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and record vital signs of patients.
  • Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for exams/procedures.
  • Assist healthcare providers during exams/procedures.
  • Provide patient support during exams.
  • Maintain medical supply inventory and stock exam rooms.
  • Administer medications to patients.
  • Process patient phone calls according to practice protocols.
  • Instruct patients regarding healthcare and treatments.
  • Provide healthcare providers with information about patients' health status.
  • Float to other UFHP practices as needed for staffing.
