The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Dell Medical School is seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) to work at the Bipolar Disorder Center as part of an interdisciplinary, team-based program that cares for people with bipolar disorder at UT Health Austin and conducts research at Dell Medical School. The LPC-A will join our growing multi-disciplinary team to conduct behavioral and mental health assessments, treatment planning, brief interventions, evidence-based psychotherapy, coordination of care, interdisciplinary team consultation as needed, and research-related activities in several studies funded by NIH, foundations, industry, among a few. The position will conduct research-related activities ethically and professionally. The LPC-A will conduct comprehensive behavioral and mental health assessments specific to bipolar disorder (and comorbid disorders), formulate and implement individualized treatment plans, and engage in interdisciplinary team consultations as needed. The position will provide clinical expertise and support for an interdisciplinary team responsible for coordinating direct or indirect services for individuals and their support systems. Clinical supervision towards LPC licensure will be provided. The position will excel as a customer service representative for individuals with bipolar disorder seeking research or care at the Bipolar Disorder Center Research and Clinical pillars. The LPC-A will assist an interdisciplinary research and clinical teams in the Bipolar Disorder Center / Almeida lab at Dell Medical School, Department of Psychiatry and Behavior Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin. The position will support research studies in the Bipolar Disorder Center that interface with real world clinical setting. The LPC-A will conduct research related activities in an ethical and professional manner.
