About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at North Texas Job Corps Center plays a crucial role in supporting the Health and Wellness Manager by planning, implementing, and evaluating wellness programs tailored to the needs of students. This position involves providing nursing services, ensuring compliance with medical orders, and maintaining accurate patient records to promote a safe and healthy environment for all students.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and diploma from an accredited Practical Nursing Program.
• Current LPN License from the State.
• Current BLS/CPR Certification.
• Valid State Driver's License.
• One year of related experience and/or training is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
• Basic computer literacy including email and internet usage.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Health and Wellness Manager in planning and implementing wellness programs.
• Ensure doctor's orders are followed in the Wellness Center and provide care as prescribed.
• Maintain charts and compile medical and dental records for terminated students.
• Notify residential personnel of released patients and maintain records of admissions and dismissals.
• Compile various logs, records, and reports related to wellness use and medication.
• Dispense prescribed medication and assist with examinations and wellness care.
• Serve as on-call nurse as scheduled and ensure performance management standards are met.
• Maintain a clean and safe health facility and monitor service quality.
