About The Position

As a Lower School Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive and engaging instruction across all core academic subjects and SEL curriculum to our lower elementary grade students. You will work collaboratively with a Lower School Lead teacher to co-plan, co-instruct, and co-manage a classroom, providing a comprehensive and supportive learning environment for our early elementary students. In this role, you will be responsible for providing direct instruction in whole-group and small-group classroom settings. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Louisiana Teaching Certificate (preferred)
  • 2+ years experience teaching in a K-3 classroom (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in an annual summer staff orientation and training.
  • Internalize scripted lesson plans and instructional frameworks from various curriculums.
  • Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity through a classical curriculum.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of scholars.
  • Utilize various teaching strategies, including hands-on activities, technology integration, and small group instruction.
  • Establish/Implement whole school-routines, procedures, and expectations that support academic success and personal growth.
  • Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Implement classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and encourage student participation.
  • Work collaboratively with the co-teacher to develop and adapt curriculum aligned with state standards and district goals.
  • Design and implementation of formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
  • Analyze student data to inform instructional practices and provide targeted interventions or enrichment.
  • Provide individualized support and accommodations to students with diverse learning needs, including those with special educational requirements or English language learners.
  • Collaborate with support staff, such as special education teachers, counselors, and specialists, to ensure comprehensive student support.
  • Foster an inclusive and equitable learning environment that celebrates diversity and promotes social-emotional development.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with the co- teacher, teammates, and parents/guardians.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance pedagogical skills, subject knowledge, and classroom management strategies.
  • Contribute to the overall school community by attending meetings, participating in committees, and supporting school-wide initiatives.
