About The Position

Kennedy International School provides a bilingual, well-rounded education for its students from preschool through 12th grade. We are looking for a full-time Teacher Assistant to join our Lower School for the 2025-2026 school year and play an active part in the day-to-day activities of our Lower School classes in English. This role has an immediate start date. The ideal candidate will be compassionate and self-motivated as well as possessing an innate joy of working with young children. He/she will be devoted to building a nurturing and safe learning environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • A minimum of 2 years experience as a teaching assistant or similar role
  • Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices
  • Must have a compassionate and positive attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and presentation abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or relevant field is preferred
  • Preferred candidate will have a current U.S. work visa, if applicable

Responsibilities

  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation by getting materials ready and setting up equipment
  • Working with the lead teacher to monitor the class schedule
  • Going over lesson material with students individually or in small groups
  • Ensuring the classroom environment is safe, clean and tidy
  • Overseeing students during non-classroom times including in-between classes, during lunch, recess, and on-field excursions
  • Collaborating with lead teachers to recognize issues students are facing and recommend solutions
  • Helping lead teachers to create lesson plans
  • During camps, participating as an Lead Teacher
  • Complying with state, school, and class rules and regulations.
  • Attending all training classes, parent conferences, and faculty meetings
