About The Position

Indian Creek School is an independent, co-ed day school in which 600 students aged 3 to Grade 12 partner with innovative teachers in an outstanding educational program. Located on a beautiful 114-acre campus in Crownsville, Maryland (just north of Annapolis), ICS students are nurtured and known as individuals while being challenged to discover their passions, purpose, and potential. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in Lower School music education.
  • Educational philosophy aligns with the mission and vision of Indian Creek School
  • Desire to be actively engaged in the work of innovative teaching, diversity and inclusion, and ongoing professional growth.
  • Resilient, mission-driven, and proactive in creating a supportive learning environment for students

  • Proficiency in technology
  • Federal and State Background Check clearance and MSDE Employment History review

Responsibilities

  • Teach Grade 3, 4, and 5 strings classes during the instructional day.
  • Attend and assist in all Performing Arts performances and events.
  • Plan, prepare and execute concerts and productions for grade levels and ensembles taught.
  • Attend and assist in Performing Arts performances and events.
  • Use pedagogical best practices, learning standards, and assessments to drive student growth and achievement in the Performing Arts.
  • Develop and maintain a strong collaborative relationship with colleagues to foster a well-rounded performing arts experience for each student.
  • Create a positive and safe classroom culture and community.
  • Work with the Lower School principal and administrative team to provide an excellent and engaging educational experience for students.
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Lunch and recess duties, as assigned.
  • Attend all divisional, departmental, and school faculty meetings including professional development days.
