About The Position

Lower School Substitute Teachers at The Westminster Schools provide meaningful instruction, maintain a positive classroom environment, and promote student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. They are attuned to the developmental, social, and emotional needs of students and bring an engaging and inclusive approach to teaching. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Prior teaching experience or experience working with children preferred
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for working with children and fostering their growth
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment
• Strong writing, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a cooperative spirit

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, manage the classroom environment, and promote student learning in alignment with lesson plans or program objectives
• Maintain a supportive and respectful classroom atmosphere that encourages collaboration and critical reflection
• Demonstrate subject matter knowledge and the ability to adapt lessons to students’ learning needs
• Incorporate technology effectively into instruction and classroom management
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Lower School program
• Perform other duties as assigned
