We are seeking a Lowboy Driver to support our team at Tarkett Sports Construction Central, a trusted partner in design-build and sports construction. What you’ll do: Job Description Tarkett Sports Construction Central, a leading construction company specializing in sports facilities, is seeking to add an experienced and reliable Dump Truck Driver to our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting materials to and from job sites while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle.

Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience as a dump truck driver or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle safety and maintenance.
  • Ability to operate and navigate a dump truck in various road and weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and team collaboration abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing situations.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and handle long hours on the road.
  • Early AM, after hour and weekend commitments may be necessary.
  • Ability to Travel 25% of the year.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must have a clean driving record and the ability to pass an annual motor vehicle record check.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check, motor vehicle record check and drug screen.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require specialized training or certification).
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience driving dump trucks or similar commercial vehicles.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, vehicle maintenance, and material handling.
  • Ability to operate and maintain hydraulic and other equipment used in the loading and unloading process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a dump truck in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Transport materials such as gravel, sand, dirt, and construction debris to and from job sites.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and functionality.
  • Maintain accurate logs of working hours, vehicle inspections and miles driven.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with loading and unloading equipment as needed, using proper techniques and equipment.
  • Inspects material to ensure it has been loaded correctly and is secure; reviews shipment documents, if any, to verify information is accurate.
  • Securing equipment to DOT specs for moving.
  • Responsible for the condition of vehicle, keeping it clean and in good working condition.
  • Travel to multiple job sites across the Midwest.
