Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of experience installing voice and data systems is preferred
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and provide two professional references
  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
  • Must adhere to OSHA safety standards
  • Must be able to see colors/knowledge of color codes
  • A well-developed knowledge of common low-voltage technology

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA or NEC Standards a plus

Responsibilities

  • Servicing, testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining low-voltage security cable, equipment, components, and devices associated with Access Control, Video/CCTV, IP Cameras, Fiber, Security, and Voice/Data Systems
  • Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
  • Installing and mounting electronic devices, panels, sensors, and components
  • Use of an Electronic (FLUKE) multi-meter to find open circuits, short circuits, and ground faulted circuits in networking or other field wiring
  • Have a working knowledge of class 2 cabling as it pertains to NFPA 72, BICSI and other relevant codes established and governing the installation of low voltage systems
  • Analyze blueprints, schematics, and drawings of fire alarm and/or other related electrical system for the purpose of determining the efficient installation of new or upgraded systems
  • Inspects electrical / security systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating conditions, identifying necessary repairs, and recommending preventative maintenance
  • Review all work orders assigned and provide daily updates to scheduling coordinators and customers
  • Communicate all work prior to starting, as well as work completed to the customer upon arrival and before leaving work site
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency in completing all assigned work orders
  • Inspecting customer sites and reviewing work orders, blueprints/plans, and installation manuals to determine material requirements and installation procedures to provide customer solutions
