About The Position

At Interstates, our Superintendents are driven leaders who ensure every project reflects our commitment to safety, quality, and excellence. As a Low Voltage Superintendent, you will lead teams in delivering complex, mission-critical low voltage and data center projects-on time, within scope, and budget. You'll be responsible for leading crews, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining quality standards, and developing your team's technical and leadership capabilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; advanced education in Construction Management or Technical field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of leadership experience in low voltage, telecom, or data center environments.
  • BICSI Technician
  • OSHA 30-hour certification
  • Strong understanding of low voltage systems, including security, DAS, fire alarm, and cluster fiber.
  • Proficient with BICSI and TIA/EIA standards and NEC grounding/separation requirements.
  • Competent in reading and interpreting low voltage drawings, schematics, and rack elevations.
  • Skilled in short interval scheduling, earned value tracking, and cost code management.
  • Effective communicator and team leader with problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • This position will require 100% travel to assigned worksites across the United States.
  • Applicants must be permanently located in/around the office location or be willing to permanently relocate.
  • Applicants must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

  • RCDD, RTPM, FOA CFOT, or manufacturer certifications (fiber/copper cabling or systems)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate Foremen, team leaders, and craft professionals to achieve project goals.
  • Conduct effective foreman meetings to align team focus and progress.
  • Mentor and coach field teams to develop their technical and leadership skills.
  • Support and live Interstates' core values and "Zero Injury" safety culture.
  • Ensure projects meet schedule, scope, and budget objectives.
  • Create and manage short-interval and look-ahead schedules (SIS).
  • Oversee procurement planning, prefabrication, and Agile field execution.
  • Manage company tools, equipment, and materials efficiently.
  • Lead testing, documentation, and turnover activities (fiber OTDR/OLTS, copper certification).
  • Establish expectations for zero punch list from project start.
  • Oversee installation quality per BICSI, TIA/EIA, and manufacturer standards.
  • Verify proper rack/cabinet builds, grounding/bonding, labeling, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications, as-builts, and redline processes.
  • Model and enforce Interstates' eight non-negotiable safety expectations.
  • Lead weekly safety meetings and engage crews in proactive safety discussions.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure adherence to all site-specific safety policies.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, IT partners, and other trades.
  • Lead effective jobsite meetings and address issues promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate change windows, MOPs, and cutovers with client and commissioning agents.
