About The Position

As an Electrical Estimator, you will assist the preconstruction and project management teams with preconstruction services including preparation of estimates, proposal and bid reviews, document reviews, cost value analysis, cost and systems review, analysis and comparisons, historical evaluations, and bid processes. Our Estimators play a key role in coordinating estimate take-offs and leading teams on some of the industry's most challenging projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience estimating in the fire alarm and/or security/low voltage field.
  • Strong understanding of relevant codes including NFPA and NEC.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed construction drawings and scope documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite and estimating software tools.
  • Experience working with major manufacturers (e.g., Siemens, Bosch, Hanwha, Avigilon, Axis, Genetec).
  • High level of organization and accuracy with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET Certification- Fire Alarm Systems Level I or higher, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret blueprints, specifications, and scope documents for fire and security system projects.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment for alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and other low voltage installations.
  • Conduct take-offs and identify potential value-engineering alternatives to reduce cost without sacrificing quality.
  • Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to source competitive pricing.
  • Develop bid proposals, ensuring all required documentation is submitted on time.
  • Partner with sales and project management teams to ensure seamless project handoffs.
  • Maintain an up-to-date pricing database.
  • Keep current with changes in industry codes, technology advancements, and competitive practices.
