About The Position

The Front-End Retail Associate at Rappahannock Goodwill Industries (RGI) is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and attractive retail environment. This role involves assisting customers and donors, managing cash register operations, and ensuring merchandise is well-presented and available for sale. The associate will also engage in various store functions to support overall operations and cross-training efforts.

Requirements

• Must be available to work during operating hours as needed for business operations, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Retail or similar experience preferred.
• Ability to stand and move around for extended periods.
• Ability to climb, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, carry, push, pull, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
• Basic computer skills and phone communication skills.
• Ability to count change and work a cash register, with basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly customer service to all shoppers and donors.
• Perform basic housekeeping tasks on the sales floor, donation center, and production area.
• Safeguard company property and equipment against loss, theft, or damage.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Adhere to security policies and enforce all security rules and regulations, reporting incidents to the Store Manager.
• Assist in any other store function as needed to meet work goals and cross-train in all store functions.
• Operate cash register to receive payments and make change, following established procedures.
• Pack or wrap customer purchases as required.
• Promote the 'round up' option to customers.
• Replenish merchandise on store fixtures and assist customers in finding merchandise.
• Maintain neat and attractively merchandised displays.
• Conduct periodic inventory of merchandise as required.
• Remove poor quality, damaged, or aged merchandise from the sales floor and prepare it for return to salvage.
