About The Position

The Lot Operations Specialist II at Cox Automotive is responsible for orienting and instructing new drivers, assisting supervisors in assigning and directing work, and ensuring the proper flow of vehicles. This role involves managing transportation logistics for employees and vehicles, performing daily maintenance checks on transport vans, and demonstrating a commitment to safety. The specialist will also work with management to monitor staffing levels and departmental performance, while enforcing company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
  • Alternatively, any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline or 5 years' experience in a related discipline.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Orient and instruct new drivers regarding their job duties.
  • Assist supervisor in assigning and directing the work of employees.
  • Communicate with supervisor or manager to assure proper flow of vehicles.
  • Maintain log of stock numbers for each vehicle moved and its lot location.
  • Communicate schedules and assignments to crew members.
  • Manage vans and transport drivers to locations.
  • Ensure timely pick-up and drop-off of employees and vehicles.
  • Shuttle employees to and from auxiliary parking lots on sale days.
  • Perform daily maintenance and routine checks of the van.
  • Demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures.
  • Work in cooperation with Market Safety Manager to support safety activities.
  • Review work volumes and monitor staffing levels for efficiency.
  • Lead the team by setting an example in behavior and championing company values.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.
