About The Position

Cox Automotive is seeking a Lot Operations Specialist I to join our Vehicle Operations team. This individual contributor role is essential in tracking inventory for Sale Operations, facilitating record updates, and reporting vehicle issues. The specialist will conduct periodic scanning of vehicles within assigned zones to verify inventory, ensure proper identification of vehicles, and coordinate the movement of disabled vehicles. The position requires effective communication with other units in the auction process to ensure a coordinated staging effort and involves entering vehicle-related data into the computer system. The specialist will also monitor vehicle movement through all processing within the assigned quadrant and support auction operations while observing job-related safety and health procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Generally less than 2 years’ experience in a related field
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to drive vehicles with either standard or automatic transmission
  • Basic computer skills: operation of portable computer terminal preferred
  • Skill in delivery of customer service, multi-tasking, organization and detail orientation

Responsibilities

  • Tracking pertinent inventory for Sale Operations
  • Facilitating record updating
  • Reporting vehicle issues
  • Conducting periodic scanning of vehicles within Zones to verify assigned inventory
  • Verifying vehicles are properly identified (stickers affixed, markings in place)
  • Ensuring vehicles are placed in proper order for sale
  • Tagging and coordinating movement of disabled vehicles from staging area
  • Communicating with other units in auction process to ensure coordinated staging effort
  • Entering vehicle related data to computer system
  • Monitoring vehicle movement through all processing within assigned quadrant
  • Supporting auction operations
  • Observing job related safety and health procedures
  • Performing other job-related duties as directed by supervisor
