About The Position

As the lost time adjuster, you will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent service to our member districts and injured employees. You will investigate and manage workers’ compensation claims, ensuring compliance with Texas statutes and internal best practices, while communicating effectively with stakeholders. Your expertise in claims handling, problem-solving, dispute resolution, and customer service will add value to our collaborative team environment. This is an Austin-based hybrid role requiring the successful candidate to work at our north Austin headquarters two days a week. Qualified candidates from the Dallas/Ft. Worth metro-plex, Houston, or San Antonio areas will be considered for a remote position, with some onsite requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree or some college preferred.
  • Must have a Texas type 03 or 08 adjuster license.
  • At least two years of experience handling workers' compensation claims.
  • Must demonstrate good organizational, analytical, and communication skills (oral and written).

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with at least five years of experience as well as familiarity with catastrophic claims may be considered for a senior adjuster position (Adjuster IV).

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and manage a caseload of workers’ compensation indemnity claims, ensuring timely and accurate benefit payments in compliance with Texas statutes and internal guidelines.
  • Communicate with injured employees, member districts, medical providers and legal counsel to gather information, resolve issues, facilitate returning injured employees back to work and provide updates throughout the claims process.
  • Collaborate with your team during meetings or case reviews to share insights, discuss complex claims, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and manage workers’ compensation indemnity claims to ensure timely and accurate benefit delivery.
  • Maintain thorough documentation, proper reserves, and compliance with all regulatory and departmental requirements.
  • Communicate proactively with injured employees, member districts, and vendors to resolve questions and provide updates.
  • Apply knowledge of Texas workers’ compensation statutes, best practices, and claims handling procedures to every case.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing insights and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
