About The Position

The Senior Marketing Specialist for Digital Communications at the LOSSAN Rail Corridor Agency is responsible for driving the success of digital marketing and communications projects for the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner. This role involves overseeing digital marketing strategies, managing social media content, and executing email programs to enhance customer engagement and increase ridership. The position requires continuous performance monitoring and optimization of campaigns to achieve key metrics, while integrating various data sources to create a comprehensive view of the customer journey.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of digital communications experience, including digital and social media marketing, online media planning, and optimization.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Experience in transportation, public transit, or travel and tourism marketing is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in Spanish, both spoken and written, is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Define, develop, and support social media strategies to increase Pacific Surfliner ridership and improve customer communications.
  • Develop content for various channels including blogs, websites, social media, and printed materials.
  • Create quarterly content calendars in collaboration with the Marketing Manager and social media vendor.
  • Execute and deliver campaign elements across social media, search engine marketing, email, and content creation.
  • Develop persuasive and targeted copy tailored to specific audience segments.
  • Coordinate and support email campaigns for lead nurturing along the customer journey.
  • Monitor campaigns and optimize performance to ensure continuous improvement and KPI delivery.
  • Provide insights regarding customer behavior and campaign effectiveness to support decision-making.
  • Oversee social media vendors and contribute to the development of a comprehensive social media strategy.
  • Support the Pacific Surfliner website with timely updates and content management.
  • Apply SEO strategies to improve organic search visibility and drive traffic to digital platforms.
  • Support staffing for special events and promotions, requiring occasional after-hours work.
  • Write and edit reports, proposals, and public information collateral.
  • Oversee community management for social media channels and coordinate responses to comments and messages.
  • Develop testing plans for email marketing and landing page design to determine effectiveness.
  • Analyze data from multiple sources to draw insights for campaign performance improvements.
  • Deliver metrics reports to support decision-making and improve internal analytical processes.
