Job Summary: The Loss Prevention Security Specialist (LPSS) plays a key role in protecting property and financial loss caused by theft; and supports overall store safety and security. This role requires vigilance, integrity, and the ability to make sound decisions to resolve challenging situations. LPSS’ work closely with loss prevention personnel and store leaders to ensure a secure shopping environment through effective loss prevention strategies and practices. Essential Functions of the Position: Post at the front of the store to be the overt impression of control for our customers and visual deterrence to potential shoplifters, vandalism, and other suspicious activities. Actively greet customers as they enter the store, interact with community members, and de-escalate incidents. Conduct regular patrols of the store to increase visual security presence, observe/report/address suspicious behaviors, deter theft and escalations, and interact with community members in service-related manners. Recover merchandise from potential shoplifters in safe, service-oriented manners. Collaborate and assist loss prevention personnel, store management, employees, and law enforcement officials to report and resolve theft and escalated incidents. Implement and maintain loss prevention policies and procedures, adapting strategies to minimize risks. Prepare and deliver daily summaries of incidents, interactions, merchandise recoveries, and other safety-related activities. Perform other duties as assigned.
