Stew Leonard’s, a family-owned and operated fresh food store founded in 1969, has locations in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Stew’s earned its nickname, the “Disneyland of Dairy Stores” because of its country-fair atmosphere, with costumed characters and animated entertainment throughout the store that keep children entertained while parents shop. Position Description: Provide a safe and secure environment for our TEAM MEMBERS and customers. Implement and maintain shrink exposure controls. Work closely with store operations in order to decrease sales reducing activities. Investigate instances of loss in an effort to proactively reduce instances of further loss. Your day-to-day: Ensuring safety to all team members and customers Reporting all in store accidents to the proper departments Working as a team with other security officers Controlling traffic in a safe and orderly manner Provide exceptional customer service What you bring to the team: 1 – 2 years of basic security experience with a concentration in internal investigations Wicklander – Zulawski preferred Valid driver’s license required Organizational skills and attention to detail are a must Great customer service Full knowledge of CCTV equipment, loss prevention and investigative concepts and techniques. Windows PC based computer experience is essential Good oral communication Excellent work ethic Major Responsibilities: Monitor store for instances of customer theft and/or and internal loss. Apprehends and detains shoplifters. Investigate instances of internal loss and provide a detailed record of findings. Conducts interviews related to theft and instances of asset loss. Completes all apprehension records and reports. Educate Team Members on SHRINK control procedures. In conjunction with the Loss Prevention and Assistant Loss Prevention Manager: Monitors Front End/ Service Desk for Policy Violations; Observes cashier performance for adherence to procedures and informs operations of any violations; Monitors transactions for collusions and/or monetary theft; Evaluates cashier over/shorts for potential sales reducing activities; Spot checks store transfers, in-house deliveries, vendor receiving and credits as required; Assures adherence to internal security standards; Ability to be flexible in work schedule. Respond to issues requiring First Aid / CPR / AED. Occasional travel and frequent use of company vehicles. Working Conditions: Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (winter weather) This position requires frequent walking and standing and occasional exposure to weather Satisfy: Greet customers with a friendly smile and positive attitude, ensuring that each customer feels welcome and appreciated.
