We are seeking for a Part-Time Loss Prevention Officer. The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff, and hotel property. This includes monitoring security systems, preventing theft and damage, responding to incidents, conducting investigations, and maintaining a visible presence to deter criminal activity. The officer will also assist in the enforcement of hotel policies and procedures while providing exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or loss prevention is highly preferred. Experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong observational and analytical skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful and emergency situations calmly and professionally.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
  • Ability to use surveillance equipment and security systems effectively.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions if performing outdoor patrols.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
  • Security Officer or Loss Prevention certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor hotel premises, including public areas, parking lots, and guest rooms, using security cameras, patrols, and physical presence to identify potential security issues.
  • Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, including theft, property damage, or any disturbances. Take appropriate actions to protect guests and staff, and assist in emergency evacuations if needed.
  • Identify and prevent theft, fraud, and other forms of loss by guests, staff, and external individuals. Work with management to develop and implement loss prevention strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of incidents, security breaches, and any action taken. Write detailed reports for all investigations, including theft, accidents, and violations of hotel policies.
  • Conduct investigations into suspected theft, fraud, and other criminal activities. Work with local law enforcement as needed and assist in the prosecution of criminal activities when required.
  • Provide a high level of customer service by interacting with guests in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner while maintaining the security of the property.
  • Enforce hotel policies related to guest behavior, safety, and security. Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed by hotel staff and guests.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the hotel premises to detect and deter criminal activity, safety hazards, and violations of hotel policies.
  • Work closely with hotel management, staff, and law enforcement to ensure a safe and secure environment for all hotel guests and employees.
