About The Position

The Overnight Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of hotel guests, associates, and property during overnight hours. This role focuses on proactive patrols, incident response, and upholding hotel policies while operating with a high level of autonomy and professionalism. The Overnight Officer documents all activities, manages emergency situations, and helps create a safe and secure environment in accordance with Omni standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in security or loss prevention preferred, especially in a hotel or overnight setting.
  • Ability to remain alert, observant, and proactive during overnight shifts.
  • Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Strong customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Computer proficiency required (email, Microsoft Office, report writing tools).
  • Must be able to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • TABC, CPR, and First Aid certification required or must be obtained within the designated timeframe.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patrols of all hotel areas, including guest floors, public areas, restaurants, meeting spaces, exteriors, parking garages, and Heart of House areas during overnight hours.
  • Monitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), fire panel, and alarm systems, ensuring prompt response to any alerts or unusual activity.
  • Respond immediately to emergencies and security situations (e.g., medical, guest disturbances, unauthorized access), taking appropriate action until management or external authorities arrive.
  • Ensure overnight property access control: monitor entrances/exits, secure restricted areas, and manage Heart of House access.
  • Check and document associates entering or exiting the building after hours and inspect packages in accordance with company policy.
  • Safeguard hotel premises against intruders, suspicious activity, or unauthorized personnel, especially during lower occupancy and low-visibility hours.
  • Assist with guest incidents, injuries, and emergencies while demonstrating discretion and a guest-focused approach.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed overnight incident, accident, and activity reports for management review.
  • Maintain control and documentation of hotel keys, radios, and security equipment.
  • Manage and log Lost & Found items during overnight shifts.
  • Escort deliveries or vendors in compliance with overnight security protocols.
  • Ensure consistent communication with the daytime Loss Prevention team by documenting activities and handing off relevant information via logs, reports, or verbal briefings.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by management.
