The Residential Services Loss Mitigation Specialist is a liaison who plays a critical role in safeguarding financial integrity across Texas communities by leading fraud prevention initiatives, supporting delinquency and legal processes, and partnering with onsite teams, Customer Care Center, AvalonBay Legal and external legal support & agencies. This role ensures consistent application of policies, timely legal action, and strategic reduction of bad debt through proactive monitoring, training, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• Proven experience in property management, loss mitigation, or legal coordination.
• Strong understanding of fraud prevention tools and housing subsidy programs.
• Ability to listen to, understand and speak so others can understand ideas and information presented verbally.
• Reads and writes English as demonstrated by clear and concise written and verbal communications.
• Proficiency in Salesforce and other property management systems.
• Ability to travel across Texas and attend court proceedings as needed.
• Possesses basic arithmetic skills (measurement, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) to perform basic calculations and analyses such as estimating, determining averages and percentages, proration, and calculating totals.
• Performs basic Microsoft Office applications such as word processing and spreadsheets.
