About The Position

EXL, through its Castle High Value and EXL Risk Control service offerings, partners with commercial and personal line insurance carriers to provide field inspection and risk control services that support client underwriting processes. EXL Risk Control is a leading provider of risk assessments and loss control surveys for commercial lines insurance carriers. The company seeks candidates with extensive experience in commercial Property & Casualty Risk Control, strong communication skills, and computer proficiency, who are committed to meeting client quality and timeliness standards. The role involves scheduling on-site surveys, providing risk evaluation and improvement reports to insurance clients, managing assignments, securing customer appointments, and completing work on time. Consultants may also undertake special projects or more complex risk evaluation surveys. The position requires assessing risk for various commercial insurance lines, including Property, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability, Inland Marine, and Builders Risk, across a range of businesses from Middle Market to Large Multi-location commercial size. Consultants will work from their home or office and travel to local commercial business operations such as retail businesses, restaurants, hotels, apartment buildings, construction sites, manufacturers, churches, and schools.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with a major insurance carrier and/or national broker in commercial Property & Casualty Risk Control
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Commitment to meeting client quality and timeliness standards
  • Knowledge or experience in commercial insurance, inspections, or fire and safety assessments
  • EIN (Employer Identification Number)
  • No Licensed Insurance Agents/Producers

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of Risk Control Consulting
  • Experience working with major carrier or national brokerage
  • BS Degree in Engineering, Safety and/or the physical sciences
  • CSP or ARM designations
  • Commercial Lines Property/Casualty Loss Control experience
  • Commercial Lines Property/Casualty Underwriting experience
  • Commercial Lines Property/Casualty Claims Adjuster experience
  • Commercial insurance inspections experience
  • Fire and Life Safety investigations/inspections experience

Responsibilities

  • Schedule on-site surveys
  • Provide risk evaluation and risk improvement reports to insurance industry clients
  • Manage assignments accepted
  • Successfully secure customer appointments within a local territory
  • Complete work assignments on time
  • Work on special projects or conduct more challenging risk evaluation surveys or risk improvement service requests that utilize education, professional certifications and overall risk control skills level
  • Assess the risk for various commercial insurance lines of business that can include Property, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability, Inland Marine and Builders Risk
