About The Position
Join our Lorain Community team and make a difference in the lives of children! To work in our School Age Classrooms, all you need is a High School Diploma or Equivalent for most jobs. If you enjoy working in an environment with children and co-workers forming lasting relationships, Lorain Community is the place for you! Work as a team to help children grow in their development. The current open positions include a School Age Lead Teacher, where experience in an after-school setting is preferred. An associate degree or higher is also preferred, but we may consider well-qualified applicants with a high school diploma who are willing to work toward a School Age Lead Teacher Endorsement. In this role, you will provide homework assistance, plan lessons, and maintain documentation to create an educational, safe, and emotionally supportive environment for the children. Parent communication is key! The hours for this position are part-time, from 2-6 PM, Monday through Friday. The pay rate ranges from $13.00 to $17.00 per hour, with placement in this range dependent on professional development levels for education and training. Additional incentives may be available for special duty assignments. All staff must receive a professional development level in the OCCRRA Professional Development Registry. Medical coverage is available for employees who work 30+ hours a week, along with dental, vision, life, and accident insurance for both full-time and part-time positions. Holidays and paid time off are offered after the completion of the probationary period, and paid professional development is available for all positions. We also offer a 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan with matching options after a year of employment for full-time positions of 20+ hours, as well as discounted childcare for eligible employees.
