Location/Schedule: O’Gorman Junior High School Mid August to Mid November Responsibilities: Promote the mission of Bishop O † Gorman Catholic Schools and the vision Being a strong witness of the Catholic faith in both knowledge and practice Develop and deliver instruction strategies that align with the doctrines of Roman Catholicism, engage students in active and positive learning that is appropriate for the students’ age and faith development level Develop a rapport with students to build trust and encourage their progress, no matter where the student is at in the personal faith journey Accompany students by inviting them to ask questions, to express their joys and challenges, to seek understanding and sharing their own faith journey Support and work with other areas of faith emphasis of the school including campus ministry and the chaplain Provide school building leadership in the area of the faith Utilizes philosophy and logic to explain the preambles of faith, and to defend the ability of human reason to know God Develop schemes of work and lesson plans that adhere to system curriculum maps Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students’ varying needs Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment Use relevant technology to support instruction Keep updated with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities Observe, monitor and evaluate student’s progress and performance Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, assignments and enter grades online Provide appropriate and timely feedback on work Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development Provide student supervision and discipline Perform certain pastoral duties including student support, counseling students with academic problems and providing student encouragement Uphold professionalism and confidentiality Participate in school events Participate in department, school meetings and parent meetings Rev. 12/19/2024 Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs Attend parent-teacher conferences to meet with parents Assume responsibility and care of classrooms and school property Maintain accurate inventory of classroom materials and supplies Perform various duties as assigned Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools is a Preschool-12 school system.
