About The Position

FPD has an immediate opening for a long-term substitute teacher for 4th grade Math . Term of assignment: late February 2026 through May 2026 Schedule: 7:45am - 3:30pm Pay and benefits: $100/day, daily lunch provided Holiday breaks include the following: Good Friday - April 3, 2026 Spring Break - April 6-10, 2026 Supported by strong, collaborative grade level peers. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field is preferred
  • A teaching Certificate is preferred
  • Classroom experience and proficiency with technological tools and platforms preferred
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • The majority of work will be performed in a classroom or school campus.
  • The person in this role is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may be required to lift up to 20lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons, units, or projects assigned.
  • Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting lesson objectives.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly classroom.
  • Takes attendance in accordance with school procedures.
  • Ensures that the students are never left unattended in the classroom.
  • May perform duties usually required of absent teacher such as lunchroom duty, etc.
  • Knows emergency evacuation routes for the classrooms assigned.
  • Knows school procedures and regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as directed by the Head of School.
