About The Position

Windham Academy Public Charter School is seeking a dedicated and flexible Long-Term Substitute Teacher to support our Unified Arts program. The ideal candidate will provide consistent instruction and maintain a positive learning environment while covering Unified Arts classes during the assigned absence. Unified Arts may include art, music, physical education, technology, or other enrichment areas, depending on scheduling needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to be flexible, organized, and dependable

Nice To Haves

• Experience or interest in Unified Arts content areas is a plus

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate Unified Arts instruction aligned with school expectations and provided lesson plans
• Maintain classroom routines, structure, and behavior expectations consistent with Windham Academy policies
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and administrators as needed
• Communicate effectively with administration regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom needs
• Supervise students during scheduled class times and transitions
• Follow all school policies related to student safety, confidentiality, and professionalism
