About The Position

The Long Term Substitute Teacher for Special Education at Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) plays a crucial role in providing educational support to students with diverse learning needs across various sites. This position is designed for educators who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with disabilities and who are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The substitute teacher will be responsible for implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), adapting lesson plans to meet the unique needs of each student, and collaborating with other educators and support staff to ensure that all students receive the necessary resources and assistance to thrive academically and socially. In this role, the substitute teacher will engage with students in a variety of settings, including one-on-one instruction, small group activities, and whole-class lessons. The teacher will utilize a range of instructional strategies and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, ensuring that all students are actively participating and making progress. Additionally, the substitute teacher will monitor student behavior, provide positive reinforcement, and implement behavioral interventions as needed to maintain a conducive learning environment.
