The 6 to 8 School Counselor will work to advance a shared understanding of the diverse, ever-changing, and complex social and emotional needs of the school community. The School Counselor will lead whole-class SEL lessons, facilitate the enrollment of new students, participate in and facilitate therapeutic groups, participate in middle school team meetings, work with students individually, and serve as a liaison for families/caregivers, community stakeholders, teachers, and other staff to best meet the needs of the student body. The Counselor will work primarily with students in grades 6 to 8 and will also work in conjunction with the school counselors for grades K to 2 and 3 to 5, the school adjustment counselor/social worker, the school psychologist, the school nurse, classroom teachers, and school-based administrators.
