About The Position

The Long-Term Substitute Teacher for High School Social Studies is responsible for implementing lesson plans prepared by the absent teacher from August 2025 to December 2025. The position requires maintaining a record free of criminal violations that prohibit public school employment and adhering to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators. The substitute teacher will also be required to perform ancillary duties assigned to the absent employee.

Responsibilities

• Implements lesson plans prepared by the absent teacher.
• Maintains in-depth knowledge of subject matter and pedagogy.
• Develops lesson plans consistent with state learning standards and district curriculum goals.
• Aligns teaching strategies with the learning styles of students.
• Uses formative and summative assessments to track student progress.
• Participates in team meetings when requested.
• Uses positive behavioral interventions and supports to maintain discipline.
• Tracks data required by the school district and prepares accurate, timely records.
• Proctors mandated testing activities as directed.
• Maintains open/effective communications and serves as a reliable information resource.
• Pursues opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skill proficiency.
• Keeps current with emergency preparedness and response procedures.
• Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.
