About The Position

Merryhill School is seeking a motivated and energetic Long-Term Substitute Physical Education Teacher to support students’ physical development, wellness, and teamwork skills. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Flexibility, professionalism, and a positive attitude
• Strong classroom and behavior management skills
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Nice To Haves

• Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred(PE experience preferred)

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging physical education lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and age-appropriate standards
• Promote physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles
• Ensure student safety by following all school policies and procedures during physical activities
• Manage class behavior using positive and consistent strategies
• Adapt activities to meet the needs of diverse learners and varying skill levels
• Communicate effectively with school administration and staff
• Set up, organize, and properly maintain equipment and learning spaces
• Follow lesson plans provided and provide feedback or notes as needed during the assignment
