About The Position

The LTC Billing Specialist is responsible for accurate billing, ensure accuracy of payments posted to patient accounts, account reconciliation, and follow-up for resident accounts. This role ensures compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and private-pay requirements while maintaining professional communication with residents and their families regarding account balances due and billing inquiries.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of related work experience preferred.
  • Experience with insurance billing preferred.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
  • Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Associate's degree or equivalent business experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and collect financial billing information for submitting claims and submitting financial statements for private pay residents.
  • Communicate with residents and their families regarding account balances due and billing inquiries.
  • Monitor claim status, identify denials, and complete timely corrections and resubmissions.
  • Reconcile resident accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Update financial spreadsheets to monitor correct pay source and cost reports.
  • Ensure accuracy of payments posted to residents' accounts in hospital billing system.
  • Work closely with admissions, nursing, social services, and business office staff to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and private-pay requirements.
  • Maintain detailed, confidential records of billing activity and family communications.
  • Assist with audits and provide requested documentation.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
