About The Position

Directs the day-to-day functions of the Extended Care Facility in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern long term facilities to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to its residents at all times. Assists with the development and implementation of discharge planning processes in acute care to reduce LOS. Identifies potential problems with post discharge care and/or initiates early referrals to promote timely D/C or transfer and proper utilization of hospital resources.

Requirements

  • West Virginia Nursing Home Administrator License.
  • Five (5) years of supervisory or managerial long term care experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Health Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the facility’s programs and activities.
  • Develops and maintains written policies and procedures that govern the operations of the facility.
  • Works directly with department directors in the development and implementation of performance evaluations.
  • Reviews facility policies and procedures at least annually and make changes as necessary to assure continued compliance with regulations.
  • Assures quality patient care is provided consistent with policies; ensures that the facility meets the standards of accreditation established by licensing and certification agencies.
  • Assumes the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the activities and programs for the facility.
  • Ensures that all associates, residents, visitors and the general public follow established policies and procedures.
  • Develops and accountable for Key Result Areas and annual objectives.
  • Develops the operating budget and capital budget.
  • Assists with CQI development.
  • Is actively involved with the long term care industry within the region and state and provides necessary input relative to the hospital’s position on legislation affecting our long term care entities.
  • Responsible for review and plans of action for all complaints and concerns.
  • Assures compliance with all rules and regulations.
