About The Position

JANUS Research Group is currently seeking a Long-Range Artillery Senior Analyst for a contract to support the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS, G8. The DCS G-8 is the principal military advisor to the Chief of Staff, Army (CSA) and the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Financial Management and Comptroller (ASA(FMC)) for the Programming phase of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process. The DCS, G-8 coordinates with the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA(ALT)) on all proposed programming and process recommendations related to ongoing and future acquisition programs and science and technology initiatives. The DCS, G-8 coordinates with Army Futures Command (AFC) for program funding for all elements of the future force materiel modernization enterprise. Position Description: Manages long-range artillery programs, including PrSM, GMLRS, HIMARS, and related fire support systems. Provides analysis and recommendations on capability development, modernization, and resource allocation. Develops information papers, briefings, and SPAR/POM inputs addressing performance, affordability, and operational impact. Coordinates with ASA(ALT), T2COM, and ARSTAF to align long-range precision fires modernization with Army and Joint priorities.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and/or Business
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience and expertise in Force Development duties
  • Demonstrates expert analytical and technical skills in long-range fires systems, munitions, and integrated fires architecture.
  • Proficient in evaluating range, lethality, targeting integration, sustainment, and industrial-base factors to inform modernization and fielding decisions.
  • Possesses advanced modeling, cost-analysis, and communication abilities to produce clear, data-driven assessments supporting long-range fires capability development.
