The Aircraft Logs & Records Clerk is responsible for the management and sustainment of all aircraft logbooks, aeronautical equipment service records, aircraft maintenance files, records and reports, directives and correspondence in an aircraft maintenance and operations environment in accordance with CNAFINST 4790.2 series and applicable instructions. This role involves utilizing current management information systems to maintain aircraft forms and records, drafting and submitting aircraft/engine management and Inventory Reporting System reports, and preparing weekly, monthly, and yearly reports. The technician processes readiness documents, administers the aircraft configuration status accounting program, and verifies aircraft utilization reports. They monitor aircraft configuration status, weight and balance, and aircraft inventory data for accuracy, and initiate and distribute applicable maintenance forms. The position also assists in preparing the Monthly Maintenance Plan, monitors, verifies, and logs Support Equipment Custody records, Aviation Armament Equipment, aircraft inventory records, and Technical Directives. The role may require maintaining a work-center technical publication annex library and providing technical assistance, guidance, and instruction. Data processing, data entry, and administrative support are performed in systems such as NALCOMIS Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA), F/A-18 Automated Maintenance Environment (FAME), Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS), Comprehensive Engine Trending and Diagnostics System (CETADS), and Comprehensive Engine Management System (CEMS). The technician is also responsible for maintaining work center cleanliness, complying with Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste Program, and Tool Control Programs, and adhering to all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations. Additional duties may be assigned by the Logs and Records Work Center Supervisor.
