The Role: We are looking for our next Logistics Technician within our MethocelTM production facility. The Logistics Technician will be responsible for packaging product into drums, bags, and supersacks while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and safety standards. Responsibilities include performing quality checks, operating packaging equipment, handling raw materials, and maintaining accurate documentation. The position also involves minor maintenance, troubleshooting, and collaboration with other shifts to support efficient operations. This position is located in Midland, MI. Compensation: The current compensation for this role is to be $18.94/hr. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Must pass an examination comprised of an oral, field and/or written portions encompassing the process equipment, operating concepts and technical principles.
  • Package material
  • Must be physically able to routinely lift 50 lbs. and climb stairs
  • Collect Samples/Deliver to correct locations
  • Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices in accordance with S.O.P.’s and FDA requirements.
  • Run appropriate QC tests
  • Clean magnets
  • Set up packs
  • Wrap Landfill boxes
  • Operate Hi-Vac
  • Addback material
  • Locate product
  • Move raw materials
  • Communicate with the lead
  • Unload pallets
  • Inspect jeeps every morning
  • Deface drums and all other packaging containers with non-prime material
  • Review lot data sheets
  • Communicate with main plant
  • Do final quality checks
  • Print bags and labels
  • Operate Compactor
  • Document Hazards
  • Acknowledge MOC’s
  • Attend Safety Meetings/ILearnings
  • Change screens in screener
  • Fill and empty baler
  • Monitor quality of packaging supplies
  • Participate on plant teams as required
  • Maintain packaging area housekeeping
  • Do minor maintenance
  • On-shift optimization
  • Set goals
  • Communicate with the other shifts
  • Be aware of environmental issues
  • Safety observations
  • Participate in problem solving and implementing solutions
  • Conflict resolution
  • Troubleshooting - mechanical and program
  • Interface with staff
  • Train and break-in new employees
  • Change filters
