About The Position

The Logistics Technician is responsible for monitoring the filtering, loading, and movement of different latex products to assigned tanks or trailers at the Alsip, IL facility; also responsible for receiving & shipping raw materials.

Requirements

High school diploma / GED required.
One to three years’ warehousing or logistics experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Ability to work with minimal supervision while acting as a strong team member.
Strong communication skills required.
Must be able to climb ladders and work at significant heights.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; both to carry and to lift overhead.
Must be able to wear a respirator.
Must be able to enter confined spaces.
Must be a highly motivated, team player and able to work independently.

Nice To Haves

Previous forklift or powered industrial equipment license or certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage filtration operation for latex products off multiple reactor lines.
Load latex products into various containers for shipment to customers.
Follow housekeeping and safety procedures to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
Responsible for unloading of deliveries at the warehouse dock.
Attend daily meetings and provide routine communication on the daily loading activities and associated production needs.
Follow up these communications in writing, telephone or e-mail as needed.
Routine use of a computer to communicate via e-mail, complete online training and other tasks as assigned.
Work closely with the control room operator to maintain operations.
Completes daily and weekend checklists, including daily inventory.
Ensures workplace safety by conducting safety observations and reviews while adhering to safety regulations and procedures.
Comply with all standard procedures and work instructions to ensure productivity, quality assurance and cost effectiveness.
Identify and communicate potential gains or possible improvements to the management system.
Supports the site HES (Health and Environmental Safety) policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements.
Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema, Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.).
Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents.
All other duties as assigned.
